About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Strategic Customer Engagement Manager (SCE) – AI professional to build and maintain high-impact relationships with our customers, ensuring they achieve measurable success with Workday AI solutions.
This position is deeply embedded in our most strategic customer accounts at critical moments in their lifecycle, including go-live, adoption, and renewal phases. As an impactful advocate for AI customers, you will use deep expertise in Workday AI, the Agentic Platform, and Illuminate framework to guide customers through deployment, optimization, and transformation.
The SCE serves as a trusted advisor, providing customer insights to product teams, advocating for customer needs, and driving strategic engagement programs. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring customers derive maximum impact from AI investments—leading to high adoption, satisfaction, and long-term partnership growth.

What You Will Do
Customer Engagement & Strategic Adoption
Lead engagement efforts with customers during go-live, deployment, and renewals.
Orchestrate teamwork across Product, Services, and Customer Success for seamless AI adoption and value realization.
Ensure AI product teams swiftly address customer challenges.
Customer Insights & Advocacy
Provide customer health insights, trends, and feedback to the AI Product team to advise roadmap decisions.
Partner closely with Product Marketing and Customer Advocacy to source strategic customer references and success stories.
Build and cultivate long-term relationships with executive partners (SVP, Director+, C-Suite) to drive alignment and retention.
AI Product & Market Expertise
Serve as a Workday AI solutions expert, guiding customers on best practices and aligning AI strategy with business outcomes.
Maintain market expertise on AI, including LLMs, Copilots, AI deployment methodologies, and competitive landscape insights.
Work closely with customers to incubate and refine new AI product concepts in collaboration with Workday’s AI teams.
Strategic Programs & Advisory Councils
Lead initiatives that strengthen Workday’s engagement with AI customers, including strategic forums and executive briefings.
Drive AI Product Advisory Councils and facilitate customer participation in beta programs and feedback sessions.
Represent Workday AI at industry conferences, executive summits, and customer advisory boards.
Customer Success & Value Realization
Proactively impact customer adoption, renewal risks, and expansion opportunities to improve AI value realization.
Develop frameworks to measure and communicate value, ensuring customers achieve their AI transformation goals
Champion AI adoption driving innovation and continuous improvement across Workday’s AI ecosystem.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product Leadership, Services, and Enablement teams to ensure flawless AI deployments for customers.
Work closely with Customer Success, Consulting, and Sales to resolve issues, optimize strategies, and strengthen relationships.
Influence internal teams with customer driven insights, helping craft the evolution of our solutions.
About You
We are open to hiring at Senior and Principal level, depending on the experience and skills of the selected candidate.
Basic Qualifications - Senior Level
7+ years demonstrated ability in one of the following or combination of the following: Account Strategy, Solution Consulting, Customer Success, Advisory, Consulting, or Client Side
5-7 yrs demonstrated ability in advising on software solutions
2 yrs experience advising on AI solutions
Basic Qualifications - Principal Level
10+ years of demonstrated ability in one of the following or combination of the following: Account Strategy, Solution Consulting, Customer Success, Advisory, Consulting, or Client Side
7-10 yrs demonstrated ability in advising on software solutions
3 yrs experience advising on AI solutions
Other Qualifications:
Passionate customer advocate and experience throughout the entire life cycle (Sales, Deployment, Post Go-Live) to drive customer success.
Fortune 500 client experience
Deep understanding of the AI market including copilots, agents, ML, LLMs etc and a willingness to learn other AI solutions.
Proficiency in Workday(or similar HCM) solutions including HiredScore and similar
Strong executive presence and ability to influence key partners, both externally with customers and internally within Workday.
A passion for revenue retention and growth
Ability to self-manage and complete projects
Interest in AI and Future of Work challenges and areas of innovation.
BA / BS / BE degree or higher

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $104,200 USD - $185,300 USDIf performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is $109,700 - $164,700 USD based on min and max pay range for that role if performed in CO.
