About the Team
The Internal Controls - Federal Compliance, within the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) Organization, focuses on designing, implementing and monitoring processes and controls to ensure compliance with Federal, operational, regulatory or other contractual requirements.
About the Role
As a Principal Federal Compliance Analyst at Workday, you will proactively identify risks, advise on strategic process improvements, and lead the implementation of those improvements. We are seeking a candidate with strong Federal Procurement expertise and a successful history of managing complex projects. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills, and the ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Compliance:
Serve as the subject matter expert on compliance issues, providing guidance and training to internal stakeholders to support adherence to Federal regulations, including FAR, DFARS etc.
Compile compliance documentation, coordinate data requests for audits, proactively stay informed of industry/regulatory changes, and foster an effective control environment.
Project Leadership:
Effectively lead and oversee multiple Federal workstreams to ensure process alignment with government regulations, internal policies, and other regulatory or contractual compliance requirements.
Develop and manage detailed project plans and drive execution by supervising deliverables, resolving roadblocks, and ensuring accountability across teams.
Monitor projects through completion and provide regular status updates using dashboards, tracking systems, and analytics to ensure progress and identify potential risks.
Process Improvement and Internal Controls:
Demonstrate expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks; develop and detail risk assessment findings and recommendations; evaluate and assess internal controls or potential control gaps.
Build and maintain positive relationships with internal business partners to identify areas for continuous improvement and nurture an environment of innovation and collaboration.
Adequately document work and business processes within process flows, SOPs, Policies etc. in accordance with team practices.
About You
Required Qualifications:
8+ years experience related to Federal contracting/procurement/proposals.
BS or MS in Accounting, Finance, or related.
Other Qualifications:
Experience administering FedRAMP or FAR Part 12 requirements preferred.
Relevant certifications in federal contracting (CFCM) or finance (CPA) preferred.
Experience managing cross-functional teams and exemplary program management skills.
Ability to identify dependencies between complex programs/projects and determine impact.
Problem solver capable of translating issues into simple terms to facilitate discussion and decision.
Strong organization skills, capable of managing competing priorities and handling varying workloads.
An aptitude for process optimization.
Knowledge of Workday Finance and related applications preferred.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $132,000 USD - $198,000 USD
Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $125,400 USD - $222,700 USD
