Benefits/HRIS Generalist - Position and Responsibilities:
As a Benefits/HRIS Generalist with Middough, you will assist the benefits team with employee benefit programs, annual benefit open enrollment, HRIS system data entry, benefit/leave policy administration, benefit administration, wellness programs, and employee customer service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
As part of the corporate HR team, collaborate with all corporate functions and colleagues across the organization based on a daily basis and on joint initiatives.
Assist with new hire benefit enrollments, COBRA events, terminations, qualifying event changes, beneficiaries, and life/disability claims.
Process employee benefit enrollments and changes accurately and timely into the HRIS platform and communicate benefit enrollment and eligibility to insurance carriers/brokers.
Assist with FMLA requests, short/long term disability claims, general employee leave requests and employee accommodation requests.
Assist with benefit open enrollment processes and provide effective and timely employee open enrollment support (annual and new hire).
Assist with presenting new hire benefit orientation.
Provide excellent customer service to employees and managers regarding benefit programs, enrollments, status changes, policies, and other general HR inquiries.
Manage both the electronic and hard copy filing of all required human resources and personnel records.
Assist with all monthly benefit carrier invoice audits and payments timely and accurately.
Assist with annual compliance reporting as needed.
Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users.
Compile HR data and run monthly reports as directed by VP of HR.
Support and be a champion of company' benefits and wellness initiatives.
Build and maintain professional working partnerships with corporate departments (such as Payroll, IT, IS, and Marketing) and all employees and management teams across the company.
Adhere to all federal, state, and local benefit, employment, and compliance laws and regulations.
Assist with new hire documentation and candidate pre-hire and orientation processes.
Education, Experience and Skills:
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field.
5+ years of direct hands-on benefit experience around health/welfare plans, disability and life plans, HRIS management, leave management, and compliance reporting is required.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Oracle, Epicor, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 desirable.
SHRM credential(s) highly desirable.
Work experience in a professional, technical, or consulting environment required.
Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Highly effective and engaging verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills at all levels in the organization while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
High degree of integrity in adhering to corporate policy and within all HR activities.
Excellent ability to take initiative, be self-motivated, and meet deadlines.
Excellent analytical, organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills.
Highly skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
