This position is hybrid and remote eligible for up to 40% of the time. The office location for this position is at ESL Headquarters in Rochester NY. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet current and future business needs.

Pay and Incentive Plan:
Starting Salary: $179,500 Salary Range: $158,802 - $200,197
In addition to competitive pay and benefits, we offer an annual performance-based incentive that rewards eligible employees for their contributions to our success.
Purpose of Position:
This position is accountable for ensuring that ESL’s total reward strategies and practices are competitive, equitable, current, well-communicated and in compliance with applicable regulations. Leads the design, implementation, and administration of the total rewards strategies and supporting programs that enables. ESL to attract, develop, motivate and retain a talented workforce. Manages Payroll, HRIS, and Performance Management systems.
Accountabilities:
Develops, implements, and manages ESL’s overall strategic total rewards and subsequent policies, programs, and procedures including:

Compensation Management – Monitors the effectiveness of existing plans, policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revisions as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives. This includes base pay, sales incentive pay, annual employee incentive plan, merit, and job evaluation system.

Benefits Management – Develops, recommends, and implements new or modified plans, including policies, procedures, and administration.

Oversees the vendor management process with outsourced providers, consultants, insurance carriers, auditors and other vendors. Manages and administers self-funded medical, dental and short-term disability plans.

Wellness & Safety Management – Utilizes plan data and employee input, manages a robust wellness and safety program in support of a healthy workforce and employee engagement.

In-house Payroll and HRIS Management – Manages system implementation, upgrades, audits and data integrity of employee and company information. Fully accountable for Federal and State tax administration including all payroll legislation/regulations.

Performance Management System – Manages the Performance Management System and process (performance plans, performance appraisals, merit calculation, employee incentive calculation, talent management process).
Leads the development and management of all required systems (Payroll, HRIS, benchmarking and job evaluation, and wellness platform) to meet the needs of management and employees (including vendor management).
Manages all legal compliance requirements through multiple audits; preparation of filings and payments; and a strong aptitude and understanding of all the changes to the regulations and rules both at the state and federal level.
Develops and manages within an annual budget to ensure fiscal responsibility and cost-effectiveness of total rewards activities.
Assembles, motivates, develops, and recognizes a competent staff to meet the current and future needs of the company.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Finance or related field

Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in compensation and benefit plan design, development and implementation

Minimum 5 years of system related experience on web-based payroll, time and attendance, and HRIS Systems.

Minimum 5 years’ experience leading teams with a focus on building strong employee engagement.

Compensation and benefits budget planning and department expense management experience required.

Strong financial acumen.

Highly knowledgeable of current government rules, regulations, reporting and filing requirements such as ERISA, FLSA, ADA, COBRA, FMLA, PPACA.

Effective PC skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Highly effective written and verbal communication skills to successfully interact with and influence individuals at all levels of the organization.

Master’s or Specified Advanced Degree preferred
