The HR Systems team provides support of UMB’s Workday HRIS focusing on design, configuration, maintenance, and refinement of business requirements. The team ensures Workday and processes are performing efficiently to avoid business disruptions.
The HRIS Functional Consultant role is an important part of the Total Rewards team at UMB. In this role, you will focus on design, configuration, maintenance, and refinement of business requirements. You will be responsible for working with internal and external team members to drive the optimization of Workday through the integration of HR data across multiple systems, implementation of new functionality, and the enhancement of current functionality. You will consult with the different departments in HR to ensure the systems meet their current and future business needs and adapt to their changing business processes. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which involves other multiple initiatives as assigned by HR leadership. Key to this role's success is the knowledge and ability to act as the subject matter expert in both the technical and HR arena. This role is hybrid working on-site Tuesday through Thursday.
How you’ll spend your time:

Conduct all phases of system changes for each new Workday release, including planning, design, configuration, testing and training. Manage and troubleshoot configuration issues. Support projects with analysis, coordination, and communication. Coordinate with Vendor/IT on any changes to Integrations, Reports, etc.

Consult with HR team members to identify opportunities to maximize the use of Workday through documenting functional and technical requirements, implement, and test system workflow. Design documentation for end-user training to ensure the effective utilization.

Provide support to HR team members with problem resolution, reporting and procedure support by using an understanding of system setup, interdependencies, and data flows to track data, system, and interface issues; coordinate issue resolution in timely manner; test and implement resolutions.

Assess the impact to current and future processes, analyze upstream and downstream impact to the business and systems.

Maintain system and create reports from multiple data sources. Develop procedures for regular maintenance and audits. Routinely review processes for continuous improvement opportunities.

Build relationships with vendors that ensure service performance and continuous improvements in processes.

Develop and maintain documents for process flow, procedures and training purposes, using flow charts, screen shots and step-by-step instructions to document HR processes.

Consult and help lead stakeholders to identify, recommend, and implement new continuous improvement opportunities. Responsible for supporting cross-border and cross-functional process improvements projects and delivering measurable improvements.

You have a Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field and 3 years of experience with Workday OR any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.

You have a demonstrated proficiency in Workday business processes and functions.

You have proven experience with Workday Report Writer.

You have at least 8 years of HRIS experience.

You have experience with Recruiting, Talent, and Learn modules.
Compensation Range:
Minimum: $72,870.00 - Mid Point: $104,160.00
