Department: Office of Human Resources Management Position Summary: Reporting to the Benefits Manager, the Benefits/ HRIS Assistant plays a key operational and technical role in supporting the administration, integrity, and analysis of the University's benefits and HRIS systems. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate benefits-related data, supporting system integrations and reporting, coordinating retirement plan administration, and ensuring the efficient flow of information between HR, Payroll, vendors, and third-party administrators. The Benefits/ HRIS Assistant serves as a critical liaison between Benefits, HRIS , Payroll Services, and external vendors to support compliance, operational efficiency, and data accuracy across employee benefit programs. The role also supports retirement plan administration, tax-related benefit processes, reporting initiatives, and ongoing system and process improvements. Essential Functions: Leads the day-to-day administration and reporting functions related to the University's 403(b) and 457(b) retirement plans, including data reconciliation, payroll coordination, contribution tracking, and vendor reporting. Maintains the technical integrity of benefits and HRIS systems by monitoring employee data, auditing transactions, and ensuring accurate system configuration and processing. Coordinates and supports file feed integrations between HRIS , Payroll Services, benefits vendors, retirement providers, and third-party administrators to ensure accurate and timely data transmission. Assists with payroll-related benefits processing and data entry, including deductions, contribution updates, benefit changes, and retirement plan transactions. Administers and maintains paid time off programs and balances, including vacation, sick, personal, and other leave accruals, ensuring accurate setup, tracking, reconciliation, reporting, and compliance with University policies and applicable regulations. Coordinates closely with Payroll Services, HRIS , and departmental administrators to resolve discrepancies and support employee inquiries related to time off balances and usage. Performs regular audits, reconciliations, and quality control reviews of benefits and HRIS data to identify discrepancies, ensure compliance, and improve data integrity. Utilizes HRIS and data analytics tools to analyze trends, generate reports, and support operational and strategic decision-making related to benefits and workforce data. Supports the administration of tax-related benefit programs and committees, including tracking, documentation, reporting, and coordination with Payroll and Finance. Assists with benefits-related reporting requirements, compliance filings, and internal audits. Partners with HR, Payroll Services, Finance, and external vendors to troubleshoot system issues, resolve data discrepancies, and improve operational workflows. Maintains documentation related to benefits systems, integrations, procedures, and reporting processes. Assists with benefits and HRIS projects, system testing, implementations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives. Provides technical and administrative support related to employee benefits, retirement plans, and HRIS functionality. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in HRIS , benefits administration, payroll processing, retirement administration, or a related HR operations role. Experience working with HRIS systems, payroll systems, and benefits administration platforms. Experience supporting retirement plan administration, benefits reporting, and data reconciliation. Preferred Qualifications: Professional HR or benefits certifications preferred, including PHR , SPHR , SHRM -CP, SHRM - SCP , CEBS , or CBP . Minimum Salary: $70,000 Maximum Salary: $75,000
