Position Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant HRIS Manager, the HRIS Assistant/Union Liaison supports HRIS operations with a primary focus on union-related processing, employee data maintenance, and compliance with collective bargaining agreements. The role maintains strong data integrity within the HR system and ensures that employee and job information is accurately processed to support payroll processing.
This position may require occasional evening, weekend and holiday hours.
Essential Functions:
Prepares, maintains, and processes employee data within the University’s HR system with a high level of accuracy, including biodemographic information, employment and job assignment details, salary adjustments and applicable retroactive calculations, and labor redistributions.
Serves as liaison for onboarding, employment, and appointment transactions for graduate student workers, resident assistants, and adjunct/faculty appointments in coordination with academic departments and union representatives.
Collaborates with HR and Payroll to research and resolve transactional issues, escalate items when necessary, and support initiatives that improve HR-payroll processing and overall data accuracy.
Partners with Labor and Employee Relations, union representatives, Payroll, and academic departments to apply collective bargaining agreement provisions; prepares union reconciliation reports, conducts outreach and review for union eligibility determinations, and completes research and responses for Requests for Information (RFIs) and other related inquiries.
Conducts routine audits of HRIS and payroll-impacting transactions to verify accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with ACA regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and University policies.
Provides first-line support for HRIS system inquiries, troubleshoots basic user issues, assists in validating system configurations and updates.
Coordinates with HR leadership to deliver HRIS training and contributes to HRIS documentation, user guides, and training materials for HR and departmental users.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an HR or administrative role, with a strong emphasis on data entry and record keeping.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Ellucian Banner HR or other similar HCM systems.
Experience with PowerBi reporting or other similar reporting software.
Minimum Salary: $65,000
Maximum Salary: $70,000
