About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Workday expert who will fill the role of a Senior Principal HCM Consultant on our US Federal Government Professional Services team. Preferred experience and ability to implement these functional areas: Core HR, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, and Time Tracking
This role will serve as a senior advisor to project teams, customers, prospects, using their deep product, platform, and deployment expertise to:
- Lead the effort to build Workday Federal specific collateral – including pre-configuration, industry solutions, and accelerators
- Drive industry strategy, solutions, and standards within the organization
- Collaborate closely with Solution Enablement and Product Management on critical enhancement reports
- Provide recommended workarounds where no delivered solution exists
- Engage in critical or urgent industry challenges
- Support the sales team on strategic pursuits
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in one or more functional areas of Workday, have experience leading internal Workday initiatives to build Industry specific collateral, exhibit a creative approach to problem solving, have technical and product proficiency and a gift for finding the details that matter.
The Senior Principal HCM Consultant will also work with Workday Deployment Partners in an Advisory capacity on Partner led deployments.
This is a senior level position that requires strong technical, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, and business discernment. The candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability and perspective to understand, balance and prioritize the demands of multiple internal initiatives and customer projects.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Project Guidance
- Drive both high-level and detailed product and solution discussions with customers, partners and internal team members (e.g. Product Management, Support, Customer Success, Delivery, Consulting)
- Work with project teams to identify alternate solutions when product gaps exist and will not be resolved by future deployment in a timely manner
- Achieve utilization with an intentional, strategic focus that furthers industry strategy and success
Sales Support
- Assist Services Executive with SOW’s and project estimates where applicable
- Review proposed timelines and resources plans to identify potential challenges in the deployment
- Support the Product Qualification process with review/analysis of potential gaps in product functionality and by providing suggestions on solutions
Support for Consulting Ecosystem
- Develop and document industry leading practices, alternate solutions, industry solutions
- Partner with Delivery Leaders and Product Management to resolve customer issues
- Collaborate with Sales and Product Industry strategists to define and realize industry strategy
- Keep up to date and provide feedback on feature designs, product roadmap and development progress of specific product area
About You
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years implementing the Workday HCM solution
- 3+ years supporting internal projects building Workday industry specific collateral
- Previous experience with the operations and culture of US Federal or similar entities
- Experience with at least one of the following human resources areas:
- Talent development
- Workforce Management
- Employee or Performance management
- Career or Succession planning
- Recruiting
- Benefits systems or administration
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to work cross functionally with team and understand the touchpoints between multiple functional areas such as HCM/ FIN/ PATT, etc.
- Ability to thrive and excel in a lean, fast-paced and dynamic Workday product environment
- Self-motivator who has experience leading internal initiatives
- Consistent track record of consulting in complex product areas for customers for one or more of the Workday product areas
- Strong interpersonal, time management and presentation skills
- Experience in a liaison role with a software development team
- Must be passionate about cloud software, enjoys learning and has a deep understanding of software or technical solutions. Be passionate about product, technology, and meeting the business needs of our customers
- Be skilled in communications and human interaction so as to be viewed as a partner and asset to Product Management and Development
- Able to travel up to 20% of the time
- Have a passion for customer service!
If performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is $158,300 USD - $237,500 USD based on min and max pay range.
