About this role
Deel is on the lookout for a dedicated Technical Writer (Policies and Procedures) to join our Knowledge Team. Are you passionate about transforming complex procedures into clear, actionable steps? The Knowledge Team at Deel is responsible for managing and scaling crucial information about our products and services throughout the company. This role focuses on enhancing internal understanding and compliance through well-crafted, easily digestible policy documents and SOPs.
Core responsibilities as a Technical Writer at Deel:
Work with subject matter experts to create clear, accessible technical content for both internal and external users.
Build and maintain a comprehensive, scalable product knowledge base.
Audit and update existing content regularly to ensure clarity, accuracy, and relevance.
Collaborate with product and enablement teams to deliver timely and impactful release notes and product updates.
Create contextual in-app content to guide users when and where they need it.
Develop and maintain API and integration documentation tailored to developer needs.
Advise teams on content strategy, writing best practices, and technical documentation standards.
Implement and enforce consistent content style guidelines across all documentation.
Become an expert on Deel’s products, services, policies, and localised requirements.
Leverage data and feedback to identify content gaps, measure impact, and recommend process or tooling improvements.
Additional team-specific responsibilities:
Work directly with senior leadership and stakeholders to develop structured SOPs and internal policy documentation that support operational clarity and compliance.
Support General & Administrative (G&A) teams with content drafting - providing templates, style guidance, and editing support to ensure quality and consistency.
Maintain and evolve SOPs and policy content in response to process changes or regulatory updates.
Collaborate with Go-to-Market and operational teams to ensure procedural documentation reflects the most current workflows.
Help enable company-wide understanding and adoption of policy updates through clear, accessible content.
Optimise procedural and policy-related content for a global audience — ensuring it is inclusive, localised, and easy to understand.
Structure and enhance documentation to improve visibility and accuracy in AI-driven search tools.
Continuously test and refine content to validate that AI tools deliver the most relevant, contextually correct outputs.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, English, Communications, Business, or relevant technical field
5+ years of experience as a technical writer
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
Proven experience creating technical documentation, including guides, code examples, and API libraries
Strong knowledge of technical information architecture
Experience designing infographics to explain technical processes
Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, ZenDesk, Figma, and other collaboration tools
Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and clarity
