Job Description
The AI Integration Engineer II is responsible for embedding and optimizing AI technologies - such as large language models and domain-specific solutions - within the organization's technology stack. This role focuses on integrating AI-powered capabilities into existing systems and workflows, enhancing development processes, and ensuring high-quality outputs.
Core Job Duties
- AI Systems Integration
- Embedding AI into Workflows: Integrate AI models and services (e.g., code generation, prompt processing, intelligent debugging) directly into development platforms and processes
- Toolchain Connectivity: Connect systems such as CI/CD pipelines, version control, design tools, and documentation platforms to provide the necessary context and support for AI-powered components
- Operational Excellence & Quality Assurance
- Monitoring & Observability: Implement and maintain robust monitoring and logging systems for AI, ensuring adherence to quality metrics, security standards, and architectural guidelines
- Feedback Loop Development
- Data Collection and Analysis: Capture and analyze insights from AI interactions - including input prompts and model responses - to iteratively improve AI performance and integration outcomes
- Iterative Improvement: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine AI integration strategies based on operational performance and user feedback
- Collaboration & Developer Enablement
- Cross-Functional Teamwork: Act as a liaison among AI research, engineering, and operations teams to ensure that integrated systems support broader business and technical goals
- Documentation & Training: Prepare clear documentation, best practices, and training materials to help developers fully leverage the integrated AI systems
- Innovation & Continuous Learning
- Staying Current with AI Advances: Keep up to date with the latest AI models, trends, and industry standards, and continuously evaluate how these innovations can enhance the codebase and development processes.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for improvement within existing workflows and proactively implement solutions to maximize the benefits of integrated AI
- Security, Compliance, & Data Governance
- Ensuring Secure Integrations: Apply best practices in AI security, including managing sensitive data and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Risk Management: Continuously assess and enhance the security posture of AI integrations to mitigate risks related to data privacy, AI bias, and other potential vulnerabilities
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years in software development in AI/ML frameworks, with a proven track record of integrating emerging technologies into established platforms
- Experience working in a SaaS company environment is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Initiative and ability to navigate ambiguity effectively while driving innovative solutions to complex integration challenges
- Capable of translating technical details for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering a coordinated approach across teams
- Passionate about AI, with a continuous drive to learn, stay current with industry advancements, and improve the organization's technology practices.
