How you can help create a better world of work
The Developer Experience team builds internal platforms and tooling that make Culture Amp engineers faster, safer, and happier. We’re a cross‑functional, internal‑facing group tackling systems‑heavy problems: local dev environments, CI/CD, frontend delivery, standards, and AI‑for‑coding enablement. Our work blends discovery, research, and hands‑on engineering to remove friction at scale.
Our team’s mission is to:
- Accelerate developer productivity by building and maintaining internal tooling and platforms used across Culture Amp engineering
- Enable high-quality, faster code delivery through AI-assisted coding, standards, and modern developer environments
- Partner with engineers to discover pain points, run spikes, and design pragmatic solutions that scale
You Will
- Own and improve local developer environments (nix/devbox) to bring production-like setups to laptops, including data population and Kafka-related workflows
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and front-end delivery infrastructure/CDN for multi-app routing and performance
- Manage org-wide dependency updates with Renovate and evolve Backstage templates for new project bootstrapping
- Collaborate on Python standards and package publishing; contribute Go (preferred) and/or Python services and tooling
- Design and extend AI-for-coding tooling (prompts, context repos, MCP server integrations) to raise code quality and speed
- Work closely with SRE and product teams on AWS/infrastructure-adjacent problems; do hands-on discovery, spikes, and systems programming
- Communicate clearly, ask great questions, and help shape ambiguous problem spaces into actionable work
You Have
- Solid programming fundamentals, language agnostic, experience in Go preferred; Python/TypeScript a plus
- Interest in developer tooling, internal platforms, and SRE-adjacent work (AWS, CI/CD, Linux/Unix); curiosity to learn unfamiliar tech
- Familiarity with or interest in CLI tools, systems programming, and reproducible dev environments (nix/devbox), experience helpful but not required
- Strong communication skills and comfort operating with ambiguity; proactive in research, experimentation, and planning
- Growth mindset with technical playfulness; eager to explore new tools and lead others through change
You Are
- Motivated to learn and able to work with some autonomy, but seek support and feedback when needed.
- Someone who loves collaboration our teams are cross-functional and you’ll work closely with other engineers from across the product group.
