The Watts Internship Program is strategically designed to provide you with the opportunity to utilize what you have learned in the classroom while gaining a true understanding of the business world by applying those key principles through hands-on experience. During the internship, students will gain exposure to and impact operations. There will be many chances to network with like-minded professionals in manufacturing, industrial engineering, and beyond to stimulate your mind through cross-departmental collaboration .

What You’ll Do
The Total Rewards and HRIS Intern will support the Total Rewards team with projects and activities that enhance the company's continued growth and operations. You will gain hands on experience with the compensation, benefits and HRIS operations. You will engage in mentorship and networking opportunities with leaders across the organization, and you will acquire experience and insight into our Total Rewards Team. You will have exposure to the following components during your internship:

Total Rewards and Compensation Structure – Learn the Total Rewards compensation structure, job profile and job banding systems

Human Capital Management and HR Systems Experience – Gain experience with the HRIS learning to understand how the HCM operates

HR Data Analytics – Analyze HR data and metrics needed to help evaluate our people

Benefits Support – Support and assist with basic employee benefits, including health and retirement

Human Resources Policy and Procedural Creation – Identify opportunities to enhance and improve HR policies, procedures, and programs

HR Operations Support – Support the Human Resources team with day-to-day operations

Interdepartmental Collaboration – Work collaboratively with various departments across the organization
The internship will be approximately 13 weeks, and during your time with Watts, you will focus on the following:

Assist with company-wide job profile project, including, but not limited to:

Job Descriptions

Benchmarking

Compensation band reviews

Assist in the executive of projects and in the design, implementation, and support of Workday system functionality, including, but not limited to:

Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of systems and overall end-user experience

Create and maintain process, system, and end-user documentations

Support the build out of the revised compensation framework and reporting

Assist with further development of HR Metrics

Assist with improving the Employee Experience
Minimum Qualifications
-
Current student (sophomore, junior or senior status) actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related degree
-
Must be authorized to work in the United States and do not require sponsorship now or in the future

Strong technical acumen

Strong attention to detail

Strong communication skills – written and verbal

Ability to work independently and as a team

Workday or other HRIS experience preferred but not required

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Suite

While performing the duties, the employee will be working in an office environment with exposure to the plant floor as well as the Engineering Test Facility. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects and other tools. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
