About the Team
The Agent Platform team delivers a new AI focused experience for Workday customers, and most importantly their employees. We are at the forefront of Workday’s AI & Agentic initiatives with the objective to deliver and integrate Agentic capabilities across the entire Workday platform, including the widespread adoption and AI powered Assist features, rapid creation and deployment of Workday-native AI Agents, and the delivery of Workday’s Agent System of Record.
The Agent System of Record (ASOR) platform brings the Human and Digital Workforce experience together. Customers can securely deploy, extend, manage, and measure Workday-delivered agents, as well as partner-built and 3rd party agents all in the Agent Analytics Hub. At the center of Workday's Agent Platform, ASOR engineers help design all agentic initiatives and features at Workday such as re-imagining analytics frameworks, agentic security, MCP and orchestration initiatives, and more!
About the Role
We’re looking for Sr SDEs and SDEs for the Workday Agent System of Record team who will work closely with Product Managers & Functional Architects, peer and cross functional engineering partners, and with critical external partners to design and build the core Agent System of Record platform.
As a Sr SDE/ SDE you will drive design & lead implementation of core features and platform enhancements, with responsibilities including:
Creating platform & service architectural design that describes business needs in contest with proposed solutions.
Collaborating with senior architects on technical requirements and design alignment, creating shared understanding and shared vision & goals.
Present ideas and concepts to Product & Executive VP+ audiences, communicating architectural concepts in context of business & organizations requirements & strategy.
Collaborate with the product team to propose, prototype, and iterate on design experiments, helping shape product direction.
Closely mentor junior engineers, helping them understand product requirements and design solutions, while encouraging them to achieve their career aspirations & goals.
Leading through example with technical excellence, being recognized as a thoughtful & inspirational leader.
About You
Basic Qualifications
Sr Software Development Engineer
- 8+ years’ experience in software development engineering, architecting, building,
- 8+ years development using technologies XpressO, Java, Kotlin
- Deep technical understanding of the Workday Architecture, Reporting, APIs (REST, Graph & SOAP), UI Platform.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, architectural best practices, and scalable system design.
- Strong systems engineering approach to diagnosing and resolving production issues.
- Experience developing in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Software Development Engineer
- 5+ years designing, building, and operating high-scale, production-grade services.
- 5+ years development using technologies XpressO, Java, Kotlin.
- Deep technical understanding of the Workday Architecture, Reporting, APIs (REST, Graph & SOAP), UI Platform.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, architectural best practices, and scalable system design.
- Strong systems engineering approach to diagnosing and resolving production issues.
- Experience developing in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Other Qualification
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Some Front-end and Full Stack Experience, for example React, NodeJS, CSS TypeScript, JavaScript.
- Familiarity of LLMs and their strengths, limitations in personal or work use.
Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
