This announcement will be used to fill one (1) full time HR Systems Auditor/HRIS Assistant vacancy at the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs.
This position assists in providing Human Resources data auditing and reporting best practices and assists with process improvements Human Resources Information System (HRIS) services. This position conducts on-going monitoring and assessment of Human Resources Management (HRM) operation, improve risk management capacity, and increases compliance with law, policy, etc.
The major duties include delegation administration, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) security access, SEMA4 transactions processing oversight, applicable labor relations contract and plan administration in order to further process improvement and HR data integrity efforts and initiatives. Services include ad hoc reporting and analysis and establish auditing best practices for a variety of HR program areas and HR systems security. Provide support for new and existing HR tools and technology systems. This position provides support for new and existing HR tools and technology systems. The work assignments of this position focus on implementation of the delegated authority from Minnesota Management and completing various internal audits on multiple HR functions such as transactions, recruiting files, classification files etc.
This position will have access to bargaining materials as defined in M.S. 13.37, Subd.1c and will assist in the research and data compilation for bargaining data and positions.
Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of experience in Human Resources (HR) data analysis/reporting or three (3) years of administrative support in Human Resources reporting sufficient to run electronic reports.
Experience must include:

Processing HR transactions such as hires and other employee appointments, salary increases, position changes, employee leaves and separations, etc.

Critical thinking skills to identify problems, constraints, variables, options, and communicate rational.

Ability to interpret labor contracts and pay plans, policies, procedures, federal and state laws.

Computer skills including knowledge of software systems, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Ability to formulate auditing best practices, make recommendations and effectively communicate results.

Knowledge of state and federal rules, regulations, and reporting requirements for state agencies.

Knowledge of data retention and destruction principles, data privacy and confidentiality principles and data security principles.

Experience assessing and developing the design of internal controls and testing for operating effectiveness.
