About the Role
As an experienced US Immigration Attorney with Deel, you will help companies address the challenges associated with managing today's globally mobile workforce. Deel’s mobility team helps companies and their employees efficiently relocate wherever they are needed. Our comprehensive range of US business immigration services include obtaining both immigrant (green card) and non-immigrant status (temporary work visas) as well as providing a range of US immigration advisory services for employees and their employers.
Key responsibilities
As a Sales Attorney, you will join our North America sales team supporting Account Executives working with new clients needing US immigration services. You will be in a sales team environment working with Account Executives and Sales Managers to assist clients with decisions leading to confidence and trust in Deel’s immigration offerings. You will provide not only us immigration expertise to clients, but also proactive and strategic business solutions that are in line with the needs of our clientele. Specific responsibilities include:
Support the Company Sales team by providing legal consultations to prospects on legal strategy, timeline, and immigration options available in the US market
Rather than acting as the case attorney for drafting and filing, you will instead be in the pre-case strategy calls. Not acting as the case attorney, but giving context and confidence to clients in how our solution can suit their eligibility and expectations
Explaining immigration regulations/laws, and changes to AEs and Clients
Evaluating eligibility criteria for case-specifics questions before their case is assigned to an immigration attorney for drafting
Going over critical timelines with AEs and Clients
Answering questions to case-specific risks, concerns, or complexities
Occasionally leading paid consults for clients not yet ready to move forward, but needing thorough eligibility assessment before starting a case
Monitor trends in immigration and raise any issues with the Sales Team Leadership and/or Operations Leadership; including training the sales team on law/immigration changes.
Skills and attributes
Utilize your technical legal and procedural understanding of US business immigration law - including PERM, NIV and IV law - and effectively apply this knowledge to client situations.
Prepare, review, and submit non-immigrant, immigrant, and PERM applications in a high-volume environment.
Manage client deliverables and expectations and demonstrate an ability to effectively execute on competing priorities.
Facilitate the legal movement of employees across borders for business travel.
Manage other attorneys, law clerks and other client service team members.
Be an active member of our US immigration practice in implementing best practices.
Qualifications
JD along with admission to any US state bar.
Minimum 2 years of US business immigration experience, with an emphasis in customer-facing conversations with Founders and C-level executives.
Experienced in US immigration with a focus on US visa types: O-1, L-1, EB-1, E-2 NIW, H1-B, and TN (among others).
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Ability to provide not only technical legal expertise, but also proactive and strategic business solutions that are in line with the needs of our clientele.
