Join the Minnesota Department of Public Safety in a dynamic HRIS and HR Operations role focused on improving HR processes, supporting employees, and driving data accuracy and compliance. This is a great opportunity to make an impact while serving as a key resource for HR systems and employee support.
This position will provide auditing and reporting within the HRIS to ensure transactions are accurately entered into SEMA4 and align with applicable law, HR policy and procedures, and collective bargaining agreements. This position will serve as a subject matter expert to the DPS Human Resources Transactions Team and provide guidance, support, and troubleshooting within the HRIS. This position will provide onboarding and back-up benefits administration support to new employees and partners with DPS Training and Development, the DPS Designated Insurance Representative (DDIR), and MNIT.
The major duties include:

Carrying out HR data integrity efforts, initiatives, and establishing auditing best practices for the DPS HR Office: Reporting and analysis within Data Warehouse, Mobius, and SEMA4

Providing support for new and existing HR tools and technology systems

Completing internal audits on multiple HR functions such as transactions, position descriptions, I-9's, etc.

Providing HR support to new employees regarding onboarding and benefits administration

Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of experience in Human Resources (HR) data analysis/reporting and auditing or three (3) years of administrative support in Human Resources reporting sufficient to run data reports and supporting audits.
Experience must include:

Building and analyzing data reports within various HR and software systems
-
Auditing data entries to ensure compliance with labor contracts and pay plans, policies, procedures, federal and state laws

Processing HR transactions such as hires and other employee appointments, salary increases, position changes, separations, etc.

Knowledge of benefits administration, Affordable Care Act (ACA), employee onboarding
-
Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities
Preferred Qualifications

Ability to formulate auditing best practices, make recommendations and effectively communicate results
-
Knowledge of state and federal rules, regulations, and reporting requirements for state agencies

Knowledge of data retention and destruction principles, data privacy and confidentiality principles and data security principles

Experience assessing and developing the design of internal controls and testing for operating effectiveness
