Job Description
The M&A Analyst will be a key member of the team, tasked with supporting the identification and prioritization of strategic initiatives, helping to shape strategy, and identifying areas of M&A focus. This role involves assisting the Vice President of Corporate Development in refining and executing the processes and analytical framework for analyzing M&A opportunities. The Analyst will research the high-priority strategic markets, support the sourcing of proprietary opportunities by identifying and initiating outreach to founders and business owners, partner in M&A execution pre- & post-close, and perform critical financial modeling and ad-hoc analyses.
Core Job Duties
- Support sourcing efforts by identifying potential acquisition targets and assisting in outreach to and initial interactions with founders, owners, and executives
- Partner with and support cross-functional efforts in all phases of M&A execution, including due diligence, business case creation, financial modeling, and providing input for integration planning
- Assist cross-functional efforts to analyze potential capital market activities as they relate to M&A or strategic investments
- Perform ad hoc analyses and sophisticated financial modeling (operational, acquisition, growth models, and pro forma financials) as needed to support decision-making
- Manage the M&A pipeline by maintaining tracking tools and documenting evaluation criteria for potential targets
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with customer, partner and vendor due diligence software systems (RFP 360 preferred)
- Understanding of asset and stock corporate transactions
- Experience working with insurance products, including bonds, E&O, cyber and crime policies
- Experience negotiating information exchanges with potential and actual counterparties
- Strong Power BI and Microsoft Excel skills
- Very strong organization skills and excellent communication skills
- 3 -5 years' experience in risk management and compliance testing, audit and assurance.
