Senior Business Analyst
Summary/objective
The Senior Business Analyst will manage projects related to software product development for their designated product team. These projects may address complex compliance and business processes. They will review the advanced business needs of clients, network partners, and stakeholders to help identify business problems and propose and document solutions. The Senior Business Analyst will work with limited supervision. The Senior Business Analyst will act as a team lead and mentor less experienced product team members. This individual will understand and consistently implement the standards and compliance measures of isolved. They will share their business knowledge and isolved product skills with team members through formal and informal channels and support product users and internal staff.
Core Job Duties
- Perform requirements gathering and analysis to create business cases for product development.
- Write product requirements documentation.
- Support development projects utilizing Agile methodology.
- Analyze product requests and make recommendations for product enhancements.
- Define product release acceptance criteria based on requirements
- Provide support to identify and document system deficiencies and recommend solutions.
- Effectively communicate changes and updates to documents, service bureau processes, and systems.
- Take on complex projects requiring advanced product knowledge and industry experience.
- Act as a mentor for business analysts or other team members.
Job Complexity
Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues creatively and effectively. Go to expert in one specific area of their role. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review). The level at which a career may plateau.
Interaction
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside their area of expertise.
Supervision
Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).
Experience
Typically, requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with an Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of business experience with preference to experience related to payroll or HCM services.
- Associate degree or equivalent business experience.
- Strong technical aptitude and capabilities.
- Organization and prioritization skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail with respect to documenting project specifications and test cases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned project work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Payroll Service Bureau or PEO industry.
- Knowledge of development processes and methodology
- Software implementation experience, preferably in a SaaS environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Management, or related field or equivalent business experience
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
