ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Urban Resource Institute (URI) is a dynamic, innovative, and well-respected organization founded in 1980 that transforms the lives of domestic violence survivors and homeless families through safe shelter and comprehensive services; delivers prevention and intervention programs that break cycles of violence and poverty; and actively works for sustainable systemic change. URI is the oldest licensed provider of domestic violence (DV) shelter and services in New York State, and is the largest provider in the United States of DV shelter services, as well as a leading provider of shelter and services for homeless families. Salary: $75,000 - $90,000
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with P&C and Payroll team members to ensure accurate and timely entry of all data.

Review and verify employee information updated by automated processes.

Perform group data updates, exports, imports, clean-ups, and research/report on any data discrepancies.

Provide support for HRIS including, but not limited to researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results, or process flaws. Run audit reports to review accuracy of data and make corrections when necessary.

Partner closely with IT to develop and troubleshoot system and process issues.

Create dashboards to support vacancy and retention data across all locations.
Prepare reports, graphs, charts, and statistics in support of human resources operations.

Support reporting needs for internal and external customers.

Conduct data analysis on compensation, classification, employment, employee relations, and/or benefits data as directed.

Circulate updates on behalf of P&C on new hires, separations, transfers, promotions, name changes, or other actions as appropriate.

Map process workflows and suggest improvements. Proactively review and recommend improvements to current processes and projects. Manage all workflows within the HRIS.

Develop and update user procedures, guidelines, and documentation.

Assist with the review, testing, and implementation of system upgrades or modifications.

Assist in ensuring the software conforms to compliance requirements.

Interface with HRIS vendor to set up and maintain PTO entitlements and benefit plan options.

Train new users and provide regular ongoing training for managers/supervisors.

Oversee development, testing and implementation of any associated HRIS projects.

Assist with special projects as directed.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, computer science or a related field required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

7 years' experience in HRIS with 5 years in a human resources environment role.

Demonstrated knowledge of human resources functional operations and HR information systems, principles, methods, and practices.

Experience with UKG strongly preferred.

Knowledge and demonstrated skill in data and database management methods and practices.

Strong business and financial acumen.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail, analytics, and work ethic.

Strong ability to plan, organize and manage workload and priorities.Direct experience with UKG including implementation and complex configuration to support business and process transformation preferred.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing internet browsers, and search engines.

Demonstrated report writing skills.

Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Experience within nonprofit organizations.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to read printed and handwritten materials, and computer screens.

Ability to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and related equipment.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Will be required to lift computer equipment weighing 5 lbs. or more.
